Ayurveda and Food

Nutrition is one of the main pillars of health for this science - Ayurveda, originated in India - being an imperative complement of its medicine. Indian Cuisine, using a whole world of spices, shares many of its ingredients with Ayurvedic Nutrition, although they are distinct.

Today we live in a time when food has lost much of its contextual value. For example, the fact that we can eat seasonal foods at any time of year changes the balance of our biotype. With adequate knowledge of the power and effects of food on physical health, mental clarity, and spiritual progress, it is possible to maintain the vitality of the body and avoid illness.

The big difference between Nutrition practiced in the West and Ayurvedic Nutrition is that it includes, in addition to nutritional concepts, the 5 elements and the digestive and post-digestive power of food, as important tools to recover and maintain health.​


· The flavors and their positive and negative effects; 

· The 3 states of food in the body; 

· Nutrition and dietary principles in Ayurveda;

· Attributes of food according to Ayurveda; 

· Food distribution for each biotype;

At the end of the Ayurveda Nutrition Training, the trainee should know general rules of Ayurveda nutrition, as well as the six flavors, the food gunas, the negative and positive effects, the foods according to the doshas and know how to prepare a nutritional program for each type .

DATES: December 6, 7 and 8, 2019, from 9 am to 1 pm and 2 pm to 8 pm


· Registration is limited to the number of participants.

· Minimum attendance of 90% of the total hours to obtain a Certificate.

· The assessment is continuous, respecting a set of criteria: attendance, active participation of the trainee, preparation and delivery of work requested by the trainer, the appropriate relationship between colleagues, the trainer and the school. Knowledge measurement tests will be carried out at the end of each topic, according to the syllabus and theoretical final exam on the last day of classes; Includes DGERT certificate, insurance, receipt and training manual.
